Jordan Matthew Brown

Jordan Matthew Brown is a Broadway actor currently based out of NYC. He hails from the suburbs of Cleveland, OH where compulsively watching The Wizard of Oz and listening to Sondheim, fueled his love of theatre.

He is a 2016 graduate of Boston University's School of Theatre, and received his BFA in Acting as well as a concentration in Musical Theatre. Apart from the incredible training at BU, he spent his spring semester of 2015 studying Musical Theater with the National Music Theater Institute at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center. Upon BU graduation he also received the Bette Davis Prize for Acting. 

Some favorite collegiate credits include Parade (Leo Frank), columbinus (AP), Rosmersholm (Dr. Kroll), The Duchess of Malfi (The Cardinal). He received nominations for Boston area theatre ArtsImpulse Awards for his work in Parade and columbinus.

After graduation he joined the incredible National Tour of The Book of Mormon as a standby for Elder Cunningham, and then made his Broadway debut standing by in the role. Up until the pandemic he was playing Elder Cunningham full time on the National Tour across North America (for which he won the award for “Touring Performance of the Year” in LA)! He recently returned to Broadway for several months in The Book of Mormon playing the role of Elder Cunningham full-time! He also just finished playing Motel in Fiddler on the Roof at North Shore Music Theatre and Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors at Kansas City Repertory Theatre. In 2023 he played William Barfée in the critically acclaimed production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at George Street Playhouse. He also worked with some of his Broadway idols (including Lee Wilkof, Tony Yazbeck, and Betsy Wolfe) as Jack in Into the Woods at Town Hall in NYC. Along the way he has gotten to collaborate with so many incredible artists in concerts, cabarets, and readings at Playwrights Horizons, Birdland, and 54 Below.

Jordan’s greatest loves are theatre and food, and he hopes to continue to enjoy both indefinitely.
